Here's a picture of our ensuite bathroom. My side is the right, Hawk's is the left. Just enough room.

The twin beds are pushed together, but there's still a gap. They are very comfortable and we are not too hot at night, such a relief. They are also really beautiful.

It was foggy when we got up, and pretty cool. We met Gina and Graham just as we were going out for a walk, something we didn't think we'd do here in this heat.

The farm road is untraveled...

except for us

and the sheep.

There are grapes growing all along the road, this is a big wine production area.

We drove to Pienza to see the carefully constructed square, here's Hawk sneaking out of a church.

We at (cold) panini for lunch in the square, and then we had a lemon gelato. Hawk thinks it's time to go.

We all went up to Montepulchiano for a flag ceremony and dinner. Here's the door on the church where Bella and Edward kissed as he was taking off his shirt. They were supposed to film it in Volterra, but the filmmakers thought Montepulciano was prettier.

The flag ceremony consisted of drummers and people with flags dressed in heavy medieval costume. They were mesmerizing, really wonderful.

Some gymnastics were involved. They were all very serious and it was truly amazing stuff.

We walked down to the plaza where our contara was serving dinner, one of our house owners' daughters was serving, so we chose her to be our waitress. The food was excellent -- bruschetta with tomatoes/capers, really thick spaghetti with meat sauce, ribs and veal, and a tomato/cucumber salad. We came home and had vin santo that we dipped biscotti into. Delicious.
