We left the island around 11:30 on Kenmore Air and left Seatac at 2:45. We had those good two seats in economy class except for the baby in the row next to us who cried the whole way. All 10 hours of the flight. But there were some absorbing (I won't say good) movies, so we arrived in Frankfurt tired but okay. And hungry, the food on Lufthansa sucks!!!! But then we got upgraded to Business Class for our flight to Florence so nice, and we had a truly delicious lunch. Florence was in the 90s, but we got in our darling little car (not a mini, but cute) and drove to Montepulciano, about an hour and a half.

The house is a recently renovated beautiful Tuscany stone house, absolutely beautiful inside and out. Here's a view from the drivway.

It was only mid 80s here when we arrived, a little cooler but you can really tell the difference. You can just see the town of Montepulciano in the distance.

Here's another shot of our view across the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

And here's the swimming pool, where I spent half an hour right after my arrival nap.

We took showers and joined Megan and Adam, Brian and Sue out at the outdoor dining table, where we ate and ate and ate.

Gina and Graham had gone to Cortona to get stuff at the farmers' market, and came home with two huge truffles.

They said it was my job to shave it over our porcini ravioli!

Here's my plate. OMG! So good!!!

It was not all we ate, there were also delcious bread and prosciutto/braised veal and peppers/cheese, all incredible. But Hawk and I went off to bed at 9 pm (so proud we stayed awake so long!!!).
