Chicago Christmas
Haley cooks gimme lean sausages for our Christmas Eve breakfast. We had fried eggs and oj, too. Hawk made excellent lattes with his new espresso machine, which will sit in Paisley and Peter's kitchen until Haliam's is finished, then it moves up there.
Liam in one of the new sweaters Haley bought him for Christmas.
The sink and disposal arrived on the 23rd, so Peter and Liam installed them and the faucet and the disposal and the dishwasher on the 24th.
Here are Paisley and Morgan, looking at me the same way.
Hawk read Morgan "First Christmas on Albany Street" several times, hoping he would understand when Santa came later that day.
Note the flopped out Freya on the couch arm, her favorite place.
Hawk held Morgan so he could put a candy cane on the Christmas Tree.
Then it was time for Morgan to get in his pajamas, but just before he went to bed, we heard thumping on the roof. It was Santa. Here he is coming in the door.
He remembered everyone, even Suzy when she was a little girl. Everyone got candy canes, except Morgan,
who got a present from Santa.
Morgan was not sure at all about this Santa guy. He pretty much kept that same expression on his face the whole time the big elf was in the room.
Here is where we hung the stockings: no fireplace, why not a window?
Peter and Meredith came for Christmas Eve dinner. We had lobster pad thai, so delicious, and poached pears for dessert.
Ray and Paisley help Morgan try on his new tool belt on Christmas morning. Haley, Liam and Paisley all got tool belts too.
Morgan has on his new sweater from Joyce with the boatneck, while Suzy opens her anvil and assorted hammers from Ray.
Haley and Paisley work on arms for the meringue santas stuffed with chocolate mousse. Sheila and the girls arrived just before Mike and Jean and Anne. We drank Veuve Cliquot, ate chevre pesto torte, and had salad with pomegranate seeds and chevre souffles, and boned stuffed leg of lamb and salmon coulibac for dinner. Then Suzy and Hawk and Ray left for Madison.
