Easter, 2003

Our Easter spring garden cake. We made marzipan vegetables, and the cake was one layer of carrot and one of zucchini. Note Paisley's asparagus on the upper left there, next to Ray's butternut squash and Liam's tomatoes. Peter's cauliflowers were so perfect! Too bad we were so full!
Peter works on his carrots.
Hawk's fabulous cappuchino and oj with other breakfast stuff.
Morgan loves the swing with his Hawk.
Morgan found all of his eggs.

Paisley had to hold both of his little starfish to keep those ears on long enough for a photo.
When everyone was here, Suzy picked Matt as the Polar Bunny Designate and handed him the Orb and the trophy. Just as Matt was really getting used to the idea that he would be the Polar Bunny this year, Liam slipped out the front door.
Ray tried to tackle him, while Matt tried to get into his bathing suit, but he was too determined to hit the water.
Matt couldn't believe that this had happened to him again: Three times he has been designated the Polar Bunny, and each time usurped. But he took it gracefully.
We started the Easter egg hunt, and then we decided to move our table outside, it was so beautiful. We at our coquilles St. Jacques, brioche, croissants, and asparagus outside, punctuated by a round of competitive butt dancing. These were the winning butts.
Liam gets crowned with Easter grass, sips excellent Armagnac and champagne to warm up. Matt toasts the glorious Polar Bunny.
It was a sleepy afternoon after our big day. We behaved like true midwesterners.

Beautiful Paisley displays her grace and charm after being tossed into the lake by some out of control Polar Bunny poseurs.
