| Kit and Hawk and I flew early on Thursday from the island. It was a gorgeous sunny morning, it was hard to leave. Although we were all so excited about going to France that we didn't care. |
We met Ray at Seatac, and then we all sat together on the flight. Really cool seats in coach, with these darling little tvs just filled with movies. Kit and I each watched 5 movies during the flight, back to back until we landed. No more than 10 minutes of fidgets in that 10+ hour flight. So so cool! |
| We flew from Amsterdam to Toulouse and rented a car from Budget. Next time we'll try a different car rental. The agent didn't speak much English (come on, it's FRANCE!!!) and she was like a rental car agent from 20 years ago. When they completely had you in their power and just couldn't figure out what key to punch. |

Ray and Hawk drove us from Toulouse to Sarlat, it took about 2 hours. I think. I was kind of dozing in the back. |
| But not Kit! Look at those bright eyes! Huge personality thing going on there! |

We love our Sarlat hotel. We have three rooms and they are all different and all wonderful. We walked about the town to scope out the Saturday market site, which we will hit as soon as we get up in the morning. Fabulous fresh food for our pantry at the Manor House. Which we get to check into at 4. Paisley and Peter and the kids are in Bordeaux now, and Haley and Liam and Charlie get in tomorrow night. |
| Here are me and Kit at the restaurant we picked out. |
Our first course was foie gras with toasted french bread and a drop of balsamic vinegar. |
| Then we had duck breasts and potatoes cooked in duck fat and green beans. |
And for dessert, we had walnut cake. That little pitcher there had creme anglaise. Delicious! |
