Cora sat on Ray's lap and made a crocodile out of my camera case. She stuck her fingers in it to show me, but all I could see was her darling face.
Kit and I bought the same beautiful woven tablecloth fabic in Sarlat on Saturday, but today we went to Sarlat to buy needles and thread to hem them up. Haley bought tablecloth fabric too, in a color combo that matches her colors (blue and yellow and green) and I want that one almost as much as mine.
After lunch, everyone but me and Ray went to this stone house village, where there were peacocks. Morgan and Charlie stand in front of one of the houses, which were for birds.
They had a pile of stones there so the kids could build one if they wanted to.
Here's the peacock. Kit said he wasn't making any noise, just his feathers, which were rattling and hissing.
Here's the chateau they wanted to go inside. But they couldn't, because they could only go as part of a tour and that didn't sound like a lot of fun. An hour and a half in a group with three little kids? Uh uh.
The very adorable Charlie.
The kids bought a boule set and started to learn how to play it.
Then Peter got the soccer ball out to do some practice moves with Morgan. Peter hits it with his head.
Some really beautiful roses around the house were just coming into bloom.
Hawk built this huge fire in the dining room fireplace that was so beautiful. Liam decided the logs were too long and began to work on one.
Of course, he hammered at that thing with a pretty dull axe until he got a blister.
Paisley and Peter made mornay sauce for the macaroni they cooked for the kids' dinner. We had roast chicken, white asparagus risotto, and salad with walnut oil vinaigrette. Then we all went downstairs to play pool.
