We packed so fast I wasn't positive about my clothes, but I did find my stepford wives sundress, perfect for informal (meaning cocktail dresses) evenings. We co-hosted the AHI (travel agency for the tour) cocktail party last night and met a lot of the Wisconsin people we hadn't met. I'm talking to the incredibly interesting and adorable Alice MacPherson, who was leading a group of 7 people. We hadn't seen them before. She's a physician and would have been so interested in Peter because her area is vision too. She was pretty interested in our CHESS stuff, from the caretaking side for blind people. |
| We had been eating in the main dining room with two other Wisconsin couples, very sweet and interesting people. The food is unbelievably good. I had caviar as an app the second night, and the whole table had lobster as our entree. But there are other restaurants on board, and we discovered that we could eat at a table for two by reserving in one. So we did that after the cocktail party. | |
 | Hawk's trying to give me a bite of his amuse bouche (hey, what do they call that in Italian?) here. |
| The Italian restaurant is called Prego and the menu was created by the chef of Valentino's in L.A. The food is not only delicious, it's beautiful. This is such a classy experience. | |
 | The next morning, we had finished our crossing of the Black Sea at Odessa in the Ukraine. We never thought we'd be here! Or Bulgaria. Anyway, when the ship pulled into the harbor and sided up to the dock, a band started playing. It was so cool. All the passengers on our side applauded. |
| The dock was just at the foot of the Potemkin steps, where a battle was fought in 1905 between sailors and the Czar's forces. Each tier has 20 steps, it's a long way to the top. | |
 | You can see how big Crystal Serenity is from the steps. |
| We walked into the city looking at shops and sidewalk cafes for a couple of hours before we came back to the boat. This shot of a sidewalk cafe in downtown Odessa is for Paisley. Tonight at dinner time we sail for Yalta. We have two casual dress days in a row, then Thursday is another formal night. I get to wear my wedding dress! |
