Here is a picture of one of the things about the bed that Hawk doesn't like, the split down the middle. Yeah, and it's hard too. |
| We woke up this morning in the Dardanelles again. This is a fortress ruin on the Europe side of Turkey and it's the place where Alexander the Great crossed over into Asia. | |
 | The windjammer cruise boat ahead of us here was tied up in front of Minerva at Istanbul. We watched them sail down the channel ahead of us, we slowly gained on them. |
| We lost them when we slowed down to let our pilot off. I can't imagine why we needed a pilot for the Dardanelles, so much wider than the Bosphorus! | |
| The big event on the ship today was the grand buffet, which took all the cooks 72 hours to prepare. | |
 | There was beautiful seafood -- lobster, crab, shrimp, salmon. But it was also a lot of food art. We ate way too much. |
| We actually had two lunches, one with our first seafood plate just us together, and the other with Nancy and Ray Retzlaff. We shared dessert plates and sat in the dining room for an hour with them, talking. They're fun. Earlier, while we were waiting for the buffet to get laid out, Nancy did a healing on my collarbone. She's a healer. I'm having a pretty good time here. | |
 | We are back in our room now, but we wanted to show you the color of the Aegean sea, so deep blue. It's not so hot today, only mid 60s but who cares about that on the boat. This afternoon there's a fashion show and then we get a tour of the galley. We meet some of our tour for drinks at 5:15, and then dinner at six is informal (yes, we're pretty busy!). That means I get to wear my green flowered strapless dress at dinner! Yay! |
