| Back from the island in Madison for the first time in about a month, we went over to Milwaukee and had dinner with Sheila, Lainey and Claire before she went back to Vassar. Somehow, Sheila got ahold of my camera. I have nothing to say about Hawk's face. Except it's a little derivative of his youngest daughter. |

We went back to the island after working really hard and having a delicious time in Chicago at both ends. On the way in, we ate dinner with Ed and Mari at Aria (not so great, but good to see them) and on the way out, we stayed at The Bernardin and ate at Green Zebra with John and Carolyn. Both were fabulous! When we got back, though, we plunged into house work. That's a view of a soft sunset through the wire mesh of our new guardrail on the housedeck. |
| We had a stainless steel top made for our sink because water was splitting the butcher block. The top didn't quite fit, but we figured out a great solution: More pebbles on the wall. It looks like we meant to do it this way all along. |

| We took a little break in the early part of February to escape to Tucson. We flew in on Thursday, Paisley and Peter and Cora and Morgan arrived the next day. It was warm and sunny, we had a great time. Morgan and Cora actually went into the unheated swimming pool, but Paisley and I didn't. We just hit each other with noodles. |
