Low Tide!

We woke up at 4:30 to the sound of whales blowing air right outside. They sounded so close that we got up to see, and they were right off Pingree Rock, running up against the kelp bed. Too dark for a picture, and Hawk was the only one out there anyway. We had a big minus tide after that, and it caught a sea cucumber in a tide pool.
And a sea urchin. Usually we see those on the top of Pingree Rock, where the seagulls drop them after feasting on the insides.
And this is a sea anemone, all closed up and pretty yucky looking.
A freighter went by while we were exploring the tidepools.
We went down on the Hawk's Cave side of the rock to see what was there, here's how it looks from the "beach."
The main reason Hawk wanted to get down there was to explore Hawk's Cave, so he brought his flashlight.
After watching Hawk do a couple of uneasy slides down normal looking rocks, I decided to take pictures from a safe rock. He said the Cave goes about 10 feet one way and 30 the other, too narrow to get into. Although he tried.
