Okay, so we got here Saturday and it was beautiful, sunny and so clean and pretty. The house foundation was there with half the subfloor, we could see from the nook what it's going to look like. We are so high up!!! We will need to judiciously remove branches from some of those madrones in front of our view...
No pictures, sorry. I brought my camera but not my dazzle and not my power for the camera.
But I can tell you what's going on. It was a little rainy on Sunday, we worked on real work inside. Then yesterday it was colder and today colder still, low 50s. It rained more yesterday than today, but Taine came all dressed in a red slicker today and he and Hawk finished the downstairs subfloor.
I slipped on some rocks yesterday and when I fell, I landed on a board of rusty nails. I thought I got away with it because it didn't hurt much, but then I saw the bloody puncture in my leg (not just my favorite gap jeans). Aargh. So today I got a tetanus shot at the Health Department, $57.00.
Tomorrow Dennis and Jennifer arrive to help, we'll do a lot of framing together on Thursday. And we are having dinner at 120 Nichols, a new restaurant on the island that opened last summer. We didn't get a chance to go before we left in August.
We have a lot of leftover food from August in our freezer, we'll get some of that out and have it for dinners the rest of the time we are here.
I can see blue sky, the first time since Saturday. It makes such a difference!
