| We drove the miata to Port Townsend to visit Dennis and Jennifer. They had a cancellation in their incredibly busy summer schedule that we jumped into, and it was the weekend of the Wooden Boat Show. Very cool. Jennifer and I are standing near some beautiful kayaks. |

We dropped their wooden kayaks in at a yacht harbor about a mile away from the show and paddled over. Very cool. The next day, we drove to Port Angeles and met one of Hawk's high school friends, then we took the ferry to Victoria. We walked around and had lunch at the Empress Hotel, then we drove north along the sunny coast, looking at San Juan Island, to Sidney. A great little trip, but we need to do it in the boat! |
| We got back from Seattle the night before Ray and Jenny flew in on the sea plane. They celebrated their first anniversary with us, so cool! We had dinner at our house, then at Kit's on Friday, and on Saturday, we sent them off in Sunshine to explore our beautiful islands. | ![]() |

The weather could not have been more perfect for Ray and Jenny. We had this amazing sunset while they were gone. They saw it too! And the next day, all three pods of whales came by, right off our kelp beds. We saw them jumping completely out of the water, and they were so close the kayakers were beaching themselves on our rocks to stay out of the way. |
| They got back late Sunday afternoon, and we picked them up at Mitchell Bay. Ray gave us a great list of things to do to our boat to make it even better. Really good ideas! | ![]() |

Another great idea from Ray. While they were gone, we cut down a dead tree and bolted it to our rocks to make a gorgeous flagpole. I put my golden eagle that Phyl gave me on top. |
